Actively Nurturing Girls through Education, Love, Internship and Charity

what we do

The Angelic Ladies Society helps girls and young women develop the necessary skills to lead stable, fulfilling lives.

We are a women-led, registered non-profit that offers social intervention programmes to vulnerable and high-risk adolescent girls and young adult women.

Since our official launch in 2009, we have had the privilege of serving close to 3,400 girls across 9 girls’ homes, the South Camp Juvenile Correctional and Remand Centre for Girls, numerous schools and church youth groups, and other vulnerable women through collaborative work with key stakeholders and NGOs in Jamaica, Trinidad and the USA.

How we help.

Our Story

How it all began.

Decades ago, in the 1980s, I became an orphan when my biological mother gave me away to a stranger at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica.

Fortunately, this kind lady, along with her sister, not only fostered me but later legally adopted me and offered me a home, despite their low socio-economic background. Growing up presented many challenges. I experienced low self-esteem and battled with identity crises, but influential women, including teachers, church mothers, pastors and mentors, played a pivotal role in transforming my mindset and igniting a passion for discovering my purpose.

Now, as a youth and children’s advocate, I’ve channeled the positive influence I received into establishing the Angelic Ladies Society. Through this organization, I aim to empower adolescent girls and young adult women, inspired by the support I received.

The society addresses the lack of guidance for vulnerable and high risk girls, offering resources and mentorship to help them lead successful, independent lives. With a focus on confronting negative societal messages, the organization provides holistic support, guidance, love and opportunities for girls across Jamaica and the Caribbean.
